Event Description: 

The Yakona Nature Preserve is a 170 acre sanctuary that contains stunning Sitka spruce forest. JoAnn and Bill Barton will introduce you to the sanctuary in this presentation and give history on its formation. The Preserve was created as a forest sanctuary on Yaquina Bay and includes hiking trails and viewpoints freely accessible to people of all abilities and offers opportunities to learn about resident wildlife and cultural history, and to serve as a living laboratory of coastal ecosystems.
