With popular menu items like fried pickles, chicken and waffles and bacon cheeseburgers, The Grub’s On offers home-cooked Southern food with a Louisiana flare. The owner, Jennipher Rowland, advises customers to come in with an empty belly, ready to take on the big portion sizes, such as a big jalepeno inside-out burger surrounded by a skirt of cheese. Rowland comes from a long line of Southern cooks, and the restaurant features recipes from her mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Growing up, Rowland would know the food was ready when she would hear her grandmother exclaim, “the grub’s on!” Now she brings that taste of the South to Lincoln City to continue the tradition.
