Heceta Head Lighthouse, built in 1894, is a working lighthouse on the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can enjoy a view of the Pacific and even stay the night in the Lightkeeper’s cottages. Every morning, guests are treated to a seven-course breakfast. The lighthouse perches 205 feet above the ocean, and the light from its lens reaches about 21 miles off shore. In the lightkeeper’s house on a high cliff, the Heceta Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast offers a wide view of the ocean, and guests can walk along paths from the bed and breakfast to the lighthouse and the beach below. The lighthouse frequently hosts different events that celebrate the local culture and the community. And the lighthouse is known for its popular Christmas open houses in December.
