North Coast-Themed Gifts for the Holiday Season

By Emily Lindblom | Tuesday, December 10, 2019

On the north coast, you can find a wide variety of unique gifts to give this season, whether you celebrate a holiday or you just want to show your appreciation to the ones you love. With locally made cheese, candy, t-shirts, brews and more, let your friends and family take a piece of the coast with them wherever they go.

Your foodie friends will be thrilled with a gift of cheese from Tillamook Creamery or Blue Heron French Cheese Company. Tillamook Creamery, formerly known as Tillamook Cheese Factory, sells a variety of cheese-related gifts beyond the cheese itself, like hats, t-shirts, mugs and more. Blue Heron offers gift baskets with local and imported cheeses, Oregon wines, Blue Heron Brie and other items.

Give your holiday guests a taste of the sea with presents from Jacobsen Salt Co.'s gift shop. Located right where the salt is collected at Netarts Bay, the gift shop has many types of salts and seasonings, as well as salted candies, tuna fish and other snacks.

If you're going to a holiday party, bring some seasonal brews from Pelican Brewing Company in Pacific City. The brewery's Cascadian dark ale called Bad Santa is a festive choice and only available in November and December.

Cannon Beach's local shops and art galleries also have a plethora of gifts for you to give. The Oregon Gallery, with locations in Seaside and Cannon Beach, offers professional photographs of classic coastal landscapes; Bruce’s Candy Kitchen has many flavors of salt water taffy made onsite and Cannon Beach Bakery provides delectable pies and cakes for you to bring to celebrations of the season.

Come shop in downtown Seaside for coast-themed t-shirts and funny hats at the Seaside Carousel Mall, or get classy by browsing for China sets and jewelry from Seaside Antique Mall.

If your friends enjoy experiences as gifts, treat them to a trip to the Columbia River Maritime Museum in Astoria, where they can learn about the experiences of those who brave life at sea. The museum's gift shop also has trinkets for you to give, like crab-themed kitchen gear, books about the history of the region or hoodies with the museum's name.

There are many more places to shop for gifts along the North Coast. Check out the featured businesses listed on the Northern Oregon Coast Shopping page.
