Sketchbook Approach: Habitat, Plant, Birds, Butterflies and More
Explore creating playful compositions of sketches and drawings in your sketchbook that will include plants, small habitats, butterflies, birds and other visual and text elements. Investigate shapes and forms of different flora and fauna, and experiment with various techniques using pencil, pens and colored pencils. Participants will draw butterflies or birds from photographs and plants from live specimens, so please bring both to class. Learning about native plants of the Pacific Northwest region and local butterflies or other pollinators will be encouraged. All levels and skills welcome.
Please bring a pencil (H or F), kneaded eraser, sharpener, set of colored pencils (Prismacolor Premier or Faber Castell Polychromos) and Pigma Micron Pen 01 or 005, and your favorite sketchbook. Other supplies will be provided for class use.
