Event Description: 

Celebrating 16 years in 2020, the next Seaside First Saturday Art Walk will be held on 4th of July. The free event takes place between Holladay Drive and Broadway Street in the Historic Gilbert District of downtown Seaside.

Gloria’s Gilbert District Gallery, 613 Broadway

Welcoming artist Bev Birdwell to Seaside. The artist has a painting studio, Arts Desire, located in Vancouver,  where  classes  are held. She spent about years as a staff teacher for Susan Scheewe Publications, and in recent years has been teaching painting workshops at various art conventions. Bev has published two instructional books titled “Garden Collection” and “Garden Collection 2” on painting flowers in acrylic, watercolor and oil.

SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway St.

Featuring Greek glass pendants  by Jim & Lori Stocker. Using glass shards dating back 2,000 years unearthed in North Central Asia, the burying process develops layers of unique colors and iridescence. Handcrafted in Oregon. Featuring antique collectable  glass objects.  "A collectable is any object regarded as being of value or interest to a collector. There are numerous types of collectables, the word, as a noun, refers to an item valued for its rarity by collectors,"  Kay Kenny, owner.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway St.

Opening reception for SHORE THINGS,, an art show and sale on exhibition through July 31st,  exploring the deep, multifaceted relationship with the ocean..    Featuring original art by NW artists Paul Brent, Nick Brakel, Emily Millier, Pam Haunschild, Leah Kohlenberg, Karen Lewis, Ron Nicolaides, Susan Romersa and Peg Wells.

The Whet Spot, 12 N. Holladay Drive

Showcasing the art of Billy Lutz, one of Seaside's most famous artists, who has painted in themes for thirty years, developing a philosophy of collectivism premised on the requirements of individual motive and other paradoxes. His work is available at Portland Art Museum's Online Collections.

Featuring oil paintings and acrylics by Blue Bond, an accomplished Seaside professional artist whose specialty is in portraits and wildlife.
