Walking into Zinger’s Homemade Ice Cream shop is like taking a savory step back in time. As you enter the charming mom-and-pop shop, you’re greeted with nostalgic music, the smell of freshly made waffle cones lingering in the air and dozens of delicious ice cream flavors hand-crafted onsite by the store’s owners, Randy and Delilah Reed. They also make their own cones and hot fudge topping using only real ingredients (fruit, nuts and natural flavors) to complement their sweet treats.
Zinger's scrumptious sundaes inspire ooh's and ah's, and the milkshakes are so thick the straws stand up by themselves. The ice cream flavors are rotated often, so there’s always something new to try. Fans of the frozen goodness can take some home with them in pints or quarts as well. Zinger’s is conscious of their impact on the environment, and they use sugarcane-pulp bowls, potato-starch spoons and paper straws – no plastic, no Styrofoam, and the shop keepers recycle everything that they possibly can. The commercial equipment is Energy Star efficient. They do ice cream right and also do right by the environment, the coastal community and the customers they serve. Zinger's hours change by the season, so check ahead before making your visit.
